About the Event

Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a 3 - 4 mile hike at the Mt Pisgah & Mica Ledges Preserves. We will take a look at all the new beaver activity along Chalker Brook, visit the beautiful Whitney Pond and enjoy the view from the ledges. At the end of the hike we will return to the area near the beaver dam near dusk and if we are lucky we may hear or see the beaver.  The hike will vary from old roads to trails some of which will be rocky and occaisionally steep.

Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring a pack with water and a snack. Hiking poles may be desireable for the rocky sections of trail which may in places be covered with leaves.  The Mica Ledges preserve is owned and managed by the Madison Land Conservation Trust & the Middlesex Land Trust. For a map of the area we will hike, click here.

Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.

Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
