Summer Program

Full day (8-12) and half-day (5&6) summer program at Fire Ring Farm in Portland

June 21-July 23

Sliding-scale program fee!

Come explore Palmer-Taylor Preserve owned by the Middlesex Land Trust with caring nature mentors, play games, hone your nature skills and learn how to harvest and cook food at Fire Ring Farm in the outdoor kitchen! Child to mentor ratio is 5:1.

Girls Outside Thursdays!

Girls After-School Nature Exploration

Thursdays at Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown (Gr. 2-5)

Dates: 4/15-5/20   Time: 3:45-6:00pm

Come enjoy some outdoor time with Everyone Outside! We will spend time connecting with the natural world around us as nature detectives, scientists and artists. As we explore the woods, we will work together to solve nature mysteries, use viewing scopes to examine the creatures and plants we find, and play games. Adult:child ratio is 1:4 or better. Girls from all elementary schools and/or home-school programs welcome!

Wednesday Nature Explorers

Afternoon Nature Explorers Program

at Fire Ring Farm in Portland (Ages 8-12)

Wednesdays, 12-4pm

Spring session: 4/14 - 5/19

FULL! Registration by permission only!

Afternoon nature connection program at Fire Ring Farm in Portland. Join us for seasonal farm activities such as planting and maple sap harvesting, time exploring the Middlesex Land Trust trails and forest that surround the farm and learn or hone your outdoor skills at our base camp. Click here for an EO blog about Nature Explorers fun in Fall 2020. This program will be limited to 12 children and takes place entirely outdoors in all weather.

Friday Nature Explorers

Homeschoolers Nature Explorers Program

at Fire Ring Farm in Portland (Ages 5-9)

Fridays, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Next session: 4/16 - 5/21

Join us at Fire Ring Farm for seasonal farm activities and time exploring the Middlesex Land Trust open space surrounding the farm. We will observe nature's changes through the seasons, learn to nature journal and partake in fitting seasonal activities such as maple sugaring, planting and exploring. Click here for an EO blog about Nature Explorers fun in Fall 2020. This is a drop-off program, but caregivers are welcome to stay and join us.

Monthly Preteen Girls Program

Nature and Self Exploration for girls in grades 5-8 at Fire Ring Farm in Portland

 4 Sundays: (3/21, 4/18, 5/16, 6/20)

Time: 1:00 - 4:00 PM

The goal of this program is to help preteens who identify as female to strengthen their confidence and self-esteem, learn to foster positive connections with all types of people as well as the natural world and increase their personal and collective strengths while using their own authentic voices. PROGRAM FULL - WAITLIST ONLY

Herbal Kids

Fun lessons for children and their caregivers about medicinal plants and herbs.

- This program will resume in Spring 2021 -

B ring the whole family to spend time with Everyone Outside at Fire Ring Farm in Portland learning about farmed and naturally-occurring plants and their uses through song and play.

These programs are free but we will gratefully accept a donation to support our work connecting children and adults with the natural world and locally farmed, organic food.
