Girls Outside Mondays

Girls After-School Nature Exploration

at Snow School in Middletown (Gr. 1-5)

Session 1: Mondays March 2 - March 23

Session 2: Mondays March 30 - June 1, 2020

Come enjoy time in the great outdoors with Everyone Outside as we connect with the natural world through play. This program takes place on the grounds of Snow School, nearby Wadsworth Mansion grounds and Wadsworth Falls State Park. Transportation not provided. 

For Grades 1 to 5, but slightly older or younger children may register with permission.

The cost of this program has been reduced and significant financial aid has been made available thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County's Sari Rosenbaum Fund for Women and Girls

Girls Outside Thursdays

Girls After-School Nature Exploration at Fire Ring Farm in Portland. (Gr. 2-4)

Thursdays April 2nd - May 28th, 2020

Time: 3:15-6pm

Come enjoy time in the great outdoors with Everyone Outside as we connect with the natural world through play. This program takes place on the grounds of Fire Ring Farm in Portland and the adjacent property owned by the Middlesex Land Trust. Transportation not provided, busing from Portland Schools possible. 

For Grades 2 to 4, but slightly older or younger children may register with permission.

Monthly Preteen Girls Program

Nature and Self Exploration for girls in grades 5-8 at Fire Ring Farm in Portland

Once monthly on Sundays

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM

The goal of this program is to help girls strengthen their confidence and self-esteem, learn to foster positive connections with all types of people as well as the natural world and increase their personal and collective strengths while using their own authentic voices.

Tuesday Nature Explorers

Co-ed After-School Nature Explorers Program in Middlefield (Gr. 3-5)

Tuesdays, March 31 to May 26 

Time: after school - 6:00 PM

This program is held at the fabulous and centrally located at the Rockfall Forest and Wadsworth Falls State Park. 

Program start location: Memorial School (124 Hubbard St, Middlefield). Students from all area schools and homeschoolers are welcome to attend. For students not at Memorial school drop off ~2:45 or bet. 3:45-4 PM.

Friday Nature Explorers

Co-ed After-School Nature Explorers Program in Middletown (Gr. 1-4)

Fridays, April 24th to May 29th

Time: 3:45 - 6:00 PM

Come enjoy some outdoor time after school with Everyone Outside! This program is held at the fabulous and centrally located Wadsworth Falls State Park. Snow School students can take the bus from Snow School upon request.

For kids in grades 1-4.

Homeschool Nature Explorers

Daytime Nature Explorers Program for Homeschoolers (ages 6-12) in Portland, CT

Thursdays (ongoing) 

Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Daytime nature connection program for children ages 6-12 (older with permission). Join us at Fire Ring Farm for seasonal farm activities and spend time exploring the Middlesex Land Trust trails and forest that surround the farm. The students will observe the forest through the change of seasons, learn to nature journal and partake in fitting seasonal activities such as maple sugaring, planting seedlings, and exploring a vernal pool.

Herbal Kids

Fun lessons for children and their caregivers about medicinal plants and herbs.

Once monthly on Sundays

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM

B ring the whole family to spend time with Everyone Outside at Fire Ring Farm in Portland learning about farmed and naturally-occurring plants and their uses through song and play.

These programs are free but we will gratefully accept a donation to support our work connecting children and adults with the natural world and locally farmed, organic food.
