Pre-Teen/Teen Nature Explorers
Farm and forest nature connection and land stewardship program at Fire Ring Farm in Portland for young teens and pre-teens in grades 6-8.
2023 Spring Session Dates:
Sundays: 3/19, 4/2, 4/16, 5/7, 5/21, 6/4
Time: 12-3 pm
Farm & Forest Caregiver/Child Classes
Fun and playful classes for kids ages 0-8 (suggested) and their caregivers about nature-connection, plants and medicinal herbs at Fire Ring Farm and Palmer-Taylor Preserve.
We will play, explore & immerse ourselves in the natural woodland at Palmer-Taylor Preserve, then come back to the Farm to engage all our senses, do a fun craft or maybe sing a silly song while learning about herbs and flowers.
Dates: Fridays 9:30-12:00pm
April 21 - June 9th (8 sessions)
Location: Fire Ring Farm, Portland
Cost: $215-$305 (sliding scale) for children ages 2+, adults free
($25 materials fee for kids ages 12-24 months)

Farm & Forest Summer Camp
Our summer camp offers kids ages 5-13 a chance to connect with the natural world and learn about sustainable farming in small groups with supportive mentors.
Camp location: Fire Ring Farm and the Middlesex Land Trust's Palmer-Taylor Preserve in Portland, CT
2023 dates: (Camp hours: 9:00am - 3:30pm)
Session 1: June 19-23

Session 3: July 10-14
Session 4: July 17-21
Session 5: July 24-28
Session 6: July 31-Aug 4
Tuition: Sliding-scale (self-selected) fee of $255-$395 per child per week. Addl. financial aid available.
