What makes a plant a weed? Join local botanist Aubree Keurajian to discover the roles different plants play in the ecosystem, plant identification tips, and the difference between "weeds" and "invasive species". Many beneficial native plants have been overlooked or maligned as weeds, but by embracing these plants we can create low-cost, high-impact pollinator habitat. Got mystery plants in your yard? Bring a sample for an identification, please include multiple leaves, stem, and any flowers, fruit, or any other distinguishing characteristics.
If the weather allows, we may go outside.
This event is co-sponsored by The Coginchaug Outdoor Enrichment Center and Everyone Outside.
