WoW Hike at Bear Hill, Middletown - 6/10/23

Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a ~4-mile hike on a combination of the Mattabesett trail and the Bear Hill Loop Trail. There are several rocky outcrops with nice views and lots of mountain laurel. Hopefully the laurel will be in bloom. This hike has several short steep ups and downs and some rocky sections. The Off the Beaten Path Blog on the Bear Hill Loop will give you a feel for our hike (our route will be similar, but not identical). To keep the groups smaller we are offering an additional hike to Bear Hill on Wed, 6/7.

Please wear hiking boots and bring a pack with plenty of water and a snack/lunch. If you like hiking poles,  I highly reccomend them for areas with steep or loose rocks.

Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
