WoW Hike at the East River Preserve - 3/25/24

Join Women of the Woods for a 3 to  4 mile hike at the East River Preserve. This preserve is wonderfully varied. Our hike will take us along the edge of fields, next to the tidal channels of the East River, near inland wetlands, through a wooded area with hundreds of boulders presumably left by the glaciers and more. The trail will be very rocky at times and there will be lots of short ups and downs. To keep the group smaller, we are offering this hike on both March 9 and 25th. This hike will be slower paced and shorter than the hike on March 9th.

Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with water, a snack and dress for the weather.  You may want to bring hiking poles if you like the extra support and stability they provide, especially in places where the trail is rocky and uneven. Click here for a map.

Women of the Woods is a program of Everyone Outside. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company. Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary.
