About the Event

Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a ~4-mile hike at the beautiful Tyler Mill Preserve in Wallingford. We will hike on a dramatic narrow rocky ridge and there will be a some short steep ups and downs.  The trail is very rocky in places and easy walking in others. Hopefully we will see some spring wildflowers. For a map of Tyler Mill Preserve, click here.

Please wear hiking boots and bring a pack with an extra warm layer (for our sit spot), water, and a snack. If you like hiking poles,  I highly reccomend them for areas with loose rocks.

Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs including our Girls Outside after-school program. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.

Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
