About the Event

Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a 4 hour socially distanced spring hike at the beautiful Tyler Mill Preserve in Wallingford. Hopefully we will see lots of wildflowers on this 4+ mile hike. There will be a some short steep ups and downs.  To keep the group small, we are offering this hike on both Sat, April 24 at 10 AM and Mon, April 26  at 1 PM.  The hike on April 26 will be longer and more challenging than the hike on April 24. Space limited to 12 women per hike. Masks are required for this program.

Please wear hiking boots and bring a pack with an extra warm layer (for our sit spot), water, and a snack. If you like hiking poles,  you may want them for areas with loose rocks.

Women of the Woods is a program of Everyone Outside. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company. This program is part of our Women of the Woods (WoW) programing and is meant for women or female identifying people only, please.

If you have been to program or two, please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Our WoW hikes, our children’s programs and other Everyone Outside activities either have a sliding scale fee structure or are free (with a request for a donation from those who are able). We depend on our supporters to make our programs acessable, regardless of financial need. Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County's Sari Rosenbaum Fund for Women and Girls.

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
