About the Event
Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a 1.5 to 2 mile hike followed by time to eat a picnic dinner and socialize around a fire at Fire Ring Farm. The farm is surrounded by the Middlesex Land Trust's Palmer Taylor Preserve. This is a beautiful place to hike in the spring. There will be some ups and downs, but nothing steep or sustained. Masks are optional for this program since it is all outside. Click here for a map of the Palmer-Taylor preserve. Space limited to 12 people.
Please bring your own picnic/sack supper. Everyone Outside will bring apples foil, and other supplies to make baked apples for dessert in the fire. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes. Please bring a pack with water, an extra warm layer (for our sit spot) and a snack. You may want to bring hiking poles if you like the extra support and stability they provide.
Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside to help us cover our costs for this program and support future programs. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.
Women of the Woods is a program of Everyone Outside. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company. Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary.
Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
