About the Event
This hike is cancelled due to forecasted cold rain and low enrollment. Please join the hike on Mon 3/27 if it works for you.
If you can't come on Mon 3/27, I hope you can join us for another hike soon. Click here for the Everyone Outside Events Calendar.
Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for ~4.5-mile hike at the Timberland Preserve in Guilford. The preserve has rocky ridges, narrow a valleys, rocky streams and a pretty lake. It is one of Lucy's favorite places to hike. There will be several fairly short steep sections of trail both up and down. In honor of the first WoW hike in late March of 2018, we invite you to bring a poem to read that connects you to nature, if you wish. To keep the group small, we are offering this hike on both Sat 3/25 at 1 PM and Mon 3/27 at 1 PM. This hike is longer and more strenous than the hike on Mon, 3/27. For a map of the Timberland Preserve, click here.
Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with water, a snack and dress for the weather. You may want to bring hiking poles if you like the extra support and stability they provide, especially in places where the trail is steep or has leaves on it.
Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs including our Girls Outside after-school program. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.
Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.
Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
