About the Event
Cancelled due to bad weather.
Join Women of the Woods for a 2 to 3 mile hike in the nice woods near Mt. Pisgah. There are a some steep, rocky sections on the ascent up Mt. Pisgah. Once there, we will enjoy the view, eat a sack supper, watch the sunset, and then hike down (~1/2 mile) on an old road.
We will meet ~4:45 on Pisgah Rd, so we can leave by 5:00 PM to carpool to the start of our hike. We will end our hike on Pisgah Rd where we met. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with an extra layer, water, a sack dinner and a flashlight (or headlamp) for the hike down. Hiking pole(s) strongly reccomend for the hike down at dusk. We will be done by ~8:00 PM or likely earlier depending on the group & the weather. Directions will be sent to those who register. To keep the group small, we are offering this hike on both Sun, Sept 17 and Wed, Sept 13.
Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs including our Girls Outside after-school program. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.
Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.
Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
