About the Event
Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for a day of outdoor fun. Come for the entire time or just a couple hours. Most of the gathering will take place at the group campsite at the Rockland Preserve. It is a 1/3 mile walk from the Renees Way parking lot. Here is the rough plan:
1 - 2:45pm - 1 to 2 mile walk in the area near the group campsite. If it is hot, this will be a slow ramble.
3 - 5:00pm - Pine bark basket making workshop (click here for details) or just hangout
5pm - time to set up tents or hangout and then enjoy a Potluck dinner
After dinner we will light a fire and you can make a baked apple (supplies provided) if you wish. You can choose to leave in the evening (we will walk people back to their cars) or camp overnight. If you don't have a tent, but you would like to camp, please let Lucy know. We have access to a couple extra.
This program is lead by Lucy Meigs and Carly Koebel. If you have questions, please contact Lucy @EveryoneOutside.org
Cost: $10 to $40+ per person depending on how long you are staying and what you can afford. After you register we will let you know how to pay a $10 deposit to hold your place. If the cost is ever a barrier, please contact Lucy and we will make it work.
Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.
Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $10 to $30 per program. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from REI.
Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
