About the Event

Join Women of the Woods for a 3 to 4-mile socially distanced hike at the Mica Ledges Preserves. This hike will include a beautiful new section of the Mattabesett that winds up the ridge from Pyramid Rock. We will also enjoy the view from the ledges and the reflections of fall leaves in Whitney Pond. There are a few fairly steep ups and downs, but we will take our time. To keep the group small, we are offering this hike on both Sun, Oct 10 at 2 PM and Tues, Oct 12 at 9 AM. Space limited to 12 women per hike. Masks are optional for this program since it is all outside.

Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with water, a snack and dress for the weather. Insect repellent is a good idea since there are still plenty of mosquitos. You may want to bring hiking poles if you like the extra support and stability they provide, especially in places where the trail is covered with leaves. Mica Ledges is a signature preserve of Middlesex Land Trust. Click here for a map.

Women of the Woods is a program of Everyone Outside. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.

If you have been on a hike or two, please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County's Sari Rosenbaum Fund for Women and Girls

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
