About the Event

Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for ~4-mile socially distanced hike at the Mica Ledges Preserves . We will hike past pyramid rock and up to the "Ledges" and enjoy the view. After a visit to the beautiful Whitney Pond, we will follow old roads and loop through portions of the Rockland and Mt Pisgah preserves. For those who attended either of the last 2 hikes, there will be very little overlap, but this hike can help you see this larger well connected area. There are a few fairly steep ups and downs, but we will take our time. Over a third of the hike will be on wide trails or old dirt roads. To keep the group small, we are offering this hike on both Th 11/19 at 1 PM and Sat 11/21 at 9 AM. Space limited to 10 women per hike. Masks are required for this program.

Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with water, a snack and dress for the weather. You may want to bring hiking poles if you like the extra support and stability they provide, especially in places where the trail is covered with leaves.

Women of the Woods is a program of Everyone Outside. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company. Mica Ledges is a signature preserve of Middlesex Land Trust. Click here for a map.

If you have been on a hike or two, please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $15 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs. Your donation is greatly appreciated! Women of the Woods is supported, in part, by a grant from the Community Foundation of Middlesex County's Sari Rosenbaum Fund for Women and Girls

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
