WoW Hike - Mica Ledges & Chalker Brook Preserves, Durham 11/15/23

Join Women of the Woods for an ~3-mile loop hike in the Mica Ledges and Mt  Pisgah Preserves. We will take a look at all the beaver activity along Chalker Brook and visit the beautiful Whitney Pond. This loop hike will be a combination of walking on old roads, narrow trails and a small amount off trail walking to see beaver activity. There will be a few rocky sections of trail and some mostly gradual ups and downs. We meet at the Dead Hill parking lot. There will be a completely different and more challenging hike from the Dead Hill Parking lot on Wed, 11/15. Click here for more information. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a pack with an extra layer, water, and a snack.

Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.

Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
