Rockfall Nature Explorers

Outside after-school nature fun for kids in 3rd - 5th grade!

Come enjoy some outdoor time one afternoon per week at the Rockfall Forest and Wadsworth Falls State Park with Everyone Outside! At Nature Explorers, we enjoy connecting with the natural world around us as nature detectives, scientists and artists. Throughout the school year, we meet at Middlefield Memorial School in Middlefield to go into and explore the forest, build shelters, play games and hike the trails at Wadsworth Falls State Park. Students from Memorial School can be signed out by our staff and walk over to the meeting spot directly after school. To see Nature Explorers in action, click here to view an EO Blog. Students from all elementary schools and home-schooled students welcome!

Program information:

Program fee structure: We are committed to offering our programs to all regardless of their current financial situation. Our program fee structure is based on a self-selected sliding scale from 100% to 40% of the full program cost. Options are shown at registration. Please select the highest tuition level you can afford. If you are selecting a program fee that is less than the full program cost, please see our FAQ page to learn more about financial aid caps per child/family.

Additional financial aid: We have a limited amount of additional scholarship funding available. If you are unable to afford any of the discounted program fees, please select the tuition tier: "Deposit only: I will apply for additional financial aid" when selecting a tuition tier and answer the application questions in the registration form.

Registration/refunds: $15 of your tuition fee is non-refundable and is due at checkout in order to reserve your child’s spot in this program. You will be asked to read and agree to our refund policy as part of the registration process.

Sibling discount: A 10% sibling discount automatically applies for multiple registrants from the same family.

Multi-session discount: A 10% discount automatically applies if you register for more than one session at once.

BIPOC acknowledgement: Everyone Outside offers a $25-off BIPOC reparations acknowledgement for this program to those whose children identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. This option may be selected during registration by entering the coupon code BIPOC in the discount code box at checkout.

If you would like to read more about our decision to offer this monetary reparations acknowledgement, please see our reparations page.

Gear: Participants will need clothing and shoes/boots adequate for keeping them safe and comfortable on rough terrain and in all weather including rain and snow (in the winter). We spend a lot of time on the ground and when the ground is wet or cold many participants feel more comfortable with a waterproof bottom layer. Participants also need a sturdy backpack to hold their gear so that they may walk through the woods with both hands free. If you need help finding gear (rain coat/pants, boots, backpack, warm layers etc.), please contact us and we will help you!

Waitlist policy:
You may find the program you are interested in already waitlisted. Don't worry! Please register for your desired sessions to be placed on our waitlist and we will reach out to you when a space becomes available.

For questions, please send us an email using the Contact Form
